In a recent interview with Fox News host Megyn Kelly, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would not approve the construction of affordable housing in the U.C. Berkeley campus housing complex because of the cost.
Trump has previously said the cost of the project is “unfair,” and he also suggested the building could be rezoned to allow for housing for people with disabilities.
On Friday, Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he has not decided if he would support the project, which he called “a great opportunity.”
“We will look at it,” Trump told The Journal.
“I’m not going to do anything with it because we’ll look at the cost.”
